We have a double release coming your way for this week’s Tap That Thursday. We’ll have our new “Backendike” Extremely Pale Ale on tap, as well as releasing our “Octagon” Red Wine Barrel Fermented Belgian Strong Ale in bottles as part of our NEW Secret Cellar Series of taproom only releases. (Thanks to Copper Fox Distillery for the barrel!)

We’ll also have Octagon on tap to try before you buy! Limited quantity – less than 50 bottles! – so get in early.

As usual, MWO Food Truck will be on site with comfort food for sale, a perfect compliment to the current weather situation.

“Backendike” Exremely Pale Ale
ABV: 3.2% | IBU: 30
This creation is the brainchild of our leadership team, who wanted a super light and refreshing patio beer with a very low ABV. Pilot Brewer Brian delivered! This pale ale clocks in at a scant 3.2%, but is still a full flavored ale brewed with Centennial, Idaho 7, and Citra hops.

“Octagon” Red Wine Barrel Fermented Belgian Strong Ale
ABV: 9.5% | IBU: 22
On the other end of the spectrum is Belgian strong ale fermented in Octagon Red Wine barrels from Barboursville Vineyard. A hearty body and mouthfeel from the Virginia-grown, Copper Fox Distillery Barley Malt, a stone-fruit, raisin, caramel sweetness from the Belgian Dark Caramalt, a slightly tangy/tart fruit profile from the Belgian Yeast and grape skin tanin and oak flavor coming from the wine barrel all combine to make this unique beer quite the experience.
